Pro Bowl rosters

The 2010 Pro-bowl roster is out.

I was anxiously awaiting this as I have a friend who should have made it, but sadly, he didn't.

How to avoid a hangover

Everyone has a way they swear by about how to prevent a hangover. Besides not drinking too much in the first place, most of them involve eating regularly during the day and while drinking, and drinking plenty of water during the evening and before bed, as alcohol is very dehydrating.

If you weren't successful at avoiding a hangover, check out some hangover cures.

Hangover Cures New Year's Day

Hangovers are an unfortunate part of many holiday celebrations. But, if you weren't successful at how to prevent a hangover, then you may be in need of some Hangover Cures.

Unfortunately, there's nothing magic about curing hangovers, it takes time. Sleep and plenty of fluids is a good way to start. Some people swear by the "Hair of the Dog" and anyone who knows how to make a good Bloody Mary may be very popular on January 1st.

Bloody Mary:

* 3 oz tomato juice
* 1 1/2 oz vodka
* 1/2 oz lemon juice
* Worcestershire sauce to taste
* celery salt and ground pepper
* Tabasco sauce to taste
* celery stalk and/or lemon wedge for garnish

1. Combine the liquid ingredients and mix well
2. Add the seasonings to taste.
3. Pour over ice cubes
4. Garnish with the lemon and/or lime wedge and celery stalk.

There's also some good food for curing hangovers, or at least helping them along. It's no guarantee, but I'm willing to take my chances with pancakes and bacon any time.

Black Eyed Peas Recipes for New Years

Eating black eyed peas on New Year's Day is thought to bring good luck and prosperity.

There's lots of of ways to eat them. You can make a Hoppin' John recipe, simmer them with sausage or make (my favorite) black eyed pea recipe, Texas Caviar.

Even if you don't like them, you gotta eat just one black eyed pea on New Year's Day for good luck!

Most Watched Videos of the Year 2010

I think we've watched all of them repeatedly around here, but YouTube has released a list of the Most Watched Videos of the Year for 2010.

I have kids, so the Annoying Orange passes for humor around here, but I kind of like the Bed Intruder Song.

Gift idea: Kodak PlaySport Waterproof Pocket HD Video Camera

Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera Bundle (Black) I'm trying to get through my Christmas shopping, and I ran across this Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera Bundle (Black). At only $139 for a pocket HD video camera, how cool would this be to take to the beach or the pool?

It's really cold here, so I guess I have beach on the brain, but I thought this might be a good gift idea.

Miley Cyrus taking a bong hit?

Looks like Miley can't be tamed.

It seems that Miley Cyrus celebrated her 18th birthday with a bong hit of salvia or something. Someone got a video of it.

Remember kids, don't do anything you don't want to see on Facebook the next day.

Oh, Miley. What would Hannah Montana do?

Double Dream Hands!

OK, we're all going to learn this and do it tonight in a flash mob somewhere.

Pantone Color of the Year 2011 - Honeysuckle

The Pantone "Color of the Year" announcements excite me. I'm pretty sure I should have been a graphic artist except for the fact I have no artistic talent, but I do love colors.

I think the art and science of colors and their use, especially in media is fascinating, so I love it when the "Pantone color of the year" is revealed. Pantone is the founder of the standards of color communication.

The 2011 Pantone Color of the Year is "honeysuckle". It's really a pretty reddish-pink, and I love the description: "Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor."

I need some of that.

Nuns Having Fun Calendar 2011

Nuns Having Fun Calendar 2011 I love this: 2011 Nuns Having Fun Calendar as seen on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

I was taught by nuns for most of my life, and I think I may actually know a couple of them in this calendar.

The pictures are happy, and the 2011 Nuns Having Fun Calendar would make a great Christmas or holiday gift.

Oprah's last Book Club Selections

Oprah Winfrey has chosen two Charles Dickens classics, A Tale of Two Cities and Classic Starts: Great Expectations, as the last selections for her popular book club during her Farewell Season.

I wonder if this is the push people need to read the classics? I mean if Oprah tells us to, then we should do it, no?

But, the new Facebook profiles are available now. Just click!

I'm playing around with it, now, not sure what to think, yet. I don't think I like looking at my own mug that size and all the pictures of me, though.

Conan O' Brien Man Jeggings

Good grief, what is is with the jeggings?

Jeggings are leggings that are style to look like denim jeans, or ultra-tight skinny jeans.

I'm not sure I understand them, but I know some people buy jeggings.

Conan O'Brien even showed us there's such a thing as man jeggings.

Um, no.

Buy a KitchenAid Stand Mixer

The holidays are here. One of the things I'd like to have is a stand mixer.

I'm not sure what I'd make with it, but I'd sure like to buy a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. I'd like a red one, but I'll take any color I can get!

I never wanted one until I saw one in real life, but iPads rarely go on sale, huh?

It would be great to carry instead of a netbook, and handy for travel.
